Joy Like Kissing In The Rain
I want to kiss that man walking toward me on the bridge...It's pouring rain, we are in our foul weather gear, he and I make eye contact, synchronicity, and in the next second he pushes back my hood, a few rain drops stream across my checks and his lips meet mine, we kiss, wet and delicious, he says, "thank you," and then walks away, my music - the soundtrack - never misses a beat. There's a spring in my step and I smile in the rain.
This was my fun little "imagining" on my evening walk. I noticed that I chose to go out with positive anticipation; I put on my boots, music and raincoat. Out there crossing streets filled with rush hour traffic, I felt good, like seeing the world through the eyes of someone "in love." I was loving...my dry feet splashing through puddles to salsa beats on my iPhone. Life really IS good...when I let myself relax and feel and do that which feels good to me! Not what I think I "should" be doing.
TRY IT: A little day dreaming. Like a time melting kiss with a complete stranger while the 5 O'clock stream of cars float by...Do some of your own "imaginings." What would your soundtrack be? What would the spring in your step feel like? Practice playing with positive anticipation. Hope you have fun!
NOTE: By the way, it's the 20th anniversary of the movie, Say Anything.
